Avoid Holiday Season Burnout

1. Let go of perfect!

✘ Perfect is such hard work, takes so much extra effort and adds even more time pressure

✔ Decide what's "good enough" and do only that

❗ Remember: Done is so much better than perfect!

2. Share out the activities - ask others to help!

✘ There are so many things to do during the holidays - but you don't have to personally do them all!

✔ Work out what needs doing, then talk to everyone involved and agree who will do what

❗ Remember: when others do things, they may not pass your "perfect" test - go back to tip 1!

3. Work out what you can do in advance AND do it in advance!

✘ Leaving everything to the last minute adds to the pressure

✔ Doing small tasks regularly leading up to the events can reduce the overwhelm

❗ Remember: others can still help you with these!

4. Say No!

✘ There can be so many things going on at this time of year

✔ Ask yourself why you're saying "yes" to things

✔ Be picky, draw your own boundaries and don't feel guilty for sticking to them - it's that or burnout

❗ Remember: it's your life, so your choice, even if others don't agree with you!

5. Relax and enjoy!

✔ Grab a cuppa (or a glass) ☕ 🥂

✔ Spend the time with your family and friends😍

✔ Grab 5 (or more) minutes of peace and quiet if you need it! ⌚📖
